The hot-dip galvanizing procedure effectively applies a shield of zinc, protecting the steel or iron sheet from rust. This method allows for the customization of zinc coating thickness, with options available up to a substantial 275g/m2. The product is further classified as either zero spangle or extra smooth, contingent upon the presence of a skin pass treatment, thereby catering to diverse application needs.

Upon extraction from the zinc pot, the hot-dip galvanized steel sheet forms crystal grains, known as spangles, which solidify as the zinc layer cools. The spangles' size, brightness, and surface texture are influenced by factors such as the composition of the zinc layer and the cooling method used.
