Carbon Steel Manufacturing Process
The Smelting of Carbon Steel is a sophisticated procedure often executed in converters and open hearth furnaces. The rapid advancements in oxygen top blow converter technology are leading to its preference over traditional open hearth methods. The meticulously refined liquid steel is poured into ingot molds, forming diverse ingots. These ingots undergo forging or rolling to be transformed into plates, strips, bars, and sections of various shapes. Often utilized directly in their hot-rolled state, carbon steel products are subjected to heat treatment when crafted into tools or machine parts to meet specific use requirements. Additionally, the majority of steel castings also undergo heat treatment.
