Channel steel, characterized by its fluted section, is a long strip of steel used extensively in construction and mechanical applications for carbon structural steel. Its distinctive groove shape makes it ideal for building structures, curtain wall engineering, mechanical equipment, and vehicle manufacturing. Often paired with I-beams, channel steel comes in two primary varieties: ordinary U-steel and light channel steel. Hot-rolled ordinary channel steel ranges from 5-40#, while hot-rolled flexible channel steel is available in sizes 6.5-30#, as per agreements between purchasers and suppliers.
Channel steel can be categorized into four types based on shape: cold-bending equilateral U-steel, cold-bending unequal side channel steel, cold-bending inner edge coil channel steel, and cold-bending outer edge coil U-steel.
